"LAST WARNING: Your Facebook Page is Scheduled for Deletion" and Other Similar Scams

Hey there, fellow entrepreneurs! We're reaching out to keep you in the loop about a pressing issue. With the sheer size and popularity of the Facebook platform, scammers have been at it HARD lately attempting to exploit unsuspecting users, and we want to ensure that your businesses stays safe.

Recognizing and Avoiding Scams | Blayed Media

Why Facebook?

With over 2.8 billion monthly active users, Facebook is a massive playground for both legitimate businesses and, unfortunately, scammers. The vast user base creates an appealing target for bad actors seeking to hijack accounts for malicious purposes.

The Scam: Unauthorized Links and Numbers

Beware of unauthorized links, websites, and phone numbers claiming to be associated with Facebook. These are not legitimate and are part of a Facebook scam orchestrated by bad actors. They aim to steal personal information and gain control of accounts. They trick page admins into urgently clicking links to appeal imminent deletion. The links go to convincing but fake Facebook login portals operated by scammers to capture account credentials and hijack access to the threatened pages, as well as the admins’ personal Facebook profiles and potentially any debit or credit cards linked to those profiles.

How to Stay Safe:

  1. Verify Sources: Only trust official Facebook communications. A lot of the time, you can easily debunk if the message is a scam.

  2. Use Two-Factor Authentication: Strengthen your account security with two-factor authentication to prevent unauthorized access.

  3. Educate Your Team: Ensure your employees are aware of potential scams and the importance of verifying any suspicious communication.
